What Happens at a Wedding...

I don’t drink often, but it was my best friend’s wedding, so what can you do? When I do drink, I like to keep it simple. I stuck with one drink all night- French 75, which was the groom’s drink of choice. What is this drink you ask? Simple- champagne, lemon juice, and simple syrup. That’s it. So I think I had 3 or 4 of these (mind you I am a lightweight), and well, got talking to people. I ending up talking with the groom’s cousin and apparently invited him to hang out sometime and gave him my number. But that’s not even the best part. We had agreed to meet early in the week to talk mostly about career stuff (I have experience in marketing). But prior to our appointment that day, I decided to go for a run outside. I locked the door, put the key in my jogger strap and headed out. Little did I know I would end up losing the key during the run. Once again, I knew the clock was ticking because I had to be there at 6 and it was like 5:30.

After looking for several minutes, it became obvious I wasn’t going to find it. So I ran back. Returning to the house with no key and in my running clothes, I knew I was running out of time. With my key MIA I knew changing clothes wasn’t an option. So I called up a friend for a ride to the place I was suppose to meet this guy. My friend was gracious to give me a ride, and then I realized that I didn’t have my wallet. So there I was (late) meeting up with this guy who I had only met once, in my running gear with no money. It turned out better than I thought it would. But I concluded we would be better as friends or random acquaintances. Morale of the story: living in the moment and accepting the present (no matter how weird) will keep you laughing.
